: Solar screens are indeed expensive. For a 8" it could go as high as $100. Alpa-Hydrogen filters are mainly for photography. Check Orion, and Pocano. Luicon has them I believe, but they are very expensive there too. Go to www.astronomy-mall.com and there is a list of vendors that could help you. Good luck.
