I am ready to buy a scope after many years of been a celestial navigator..I know where all major stars and constellations are... Can also find planets and been able to lower them all with a sextant to obtain accurate navigation info... Well this is the decision.... 1. Sovietski 6" newtonian EQ mount. (good reviews in Sky and telescope) 2. Celestron celestar deluxe 8" 3. Meade LX50 8" mobility is an important factor, I hear the 3 of them rate high at this.

Do the newts have better picture quality while the SC can show more distorsion ???...i might get into CCDs in the future but not now... should i go with the newt 6"(for $750) and then move in some time to a 14" SCT. Or keep the 8" for a longer time????.....What do u guys (and gals) think???
