Stick with the 4.5. Your scope is acually a decent one. The 90mm is OK to for lunar and planetary viewing and some deep sky (Orion Neb. & Andromeda M31, star clusters). If you are going to the southern hemisphere, you'll need a southern star chart. Also get the NGC list of objects. You will not see as many Messier objects there as you can here in the Northern side. So say goodbye to the North star. Have fun, and stick with the 4.5". |
