: The answer to your question Yvonne is: yes. : One of the big ones is Sirius the dog star. It is the brightest star in the sky in late autumn and winter. Sirius is about 8 or 9 light years away. One of the closest to us. It's diameter if placed in the center of our solar system where the sun is would probably reach the orbit of Mars! Look up red giants. Thjese suns are massive. Ours is puny compared to others.
