: Dave,

: I have a similar dilemma. I have been thinking of building a Dob but am lured by the autotracking. It seems to me that keeping a Dob centered on moving targets, particularly planets, would be frustrating!

: I have been starhopping with my 7X50 binoculars and enjoy the hunt. This has been a great way to learn the sky.

I'm going with the Meade w/autostar, it took me two weeks to decide. I just read that once you find an object in deep space it will only stay in the view finder for 10-15 seconds due to the rotation of the earth. I WANT the AUTO TRACKING.
