Interestingly enough, I had the same question. I called Meade to ask about it, and found that the .965 eyepieces that come with the scope are "economy" models, in other words, not the best optics you can get. But I also learned that Meade will send you a 1.25" mount for free that replaces the .965, and then you can use any 1.25" EP out there. Also, I understand that the 1.25" mount has an adapter that will accept 2.0" EP's.
To get teh conversion, alll you have to do is give Meade customer service a call and they will send you the kit. (By the way, Meade also told me that the EP mount is the only difference in the scope: the mirrors, mounts, motors, etc. are all the same as the regular scope.)
