You can replace the focuser if you wish. There are many places besides Meade that have the parts to do this. As for adapter that go from small to bigger EP`s, this works, however the field of view through the 1.25" EP may be different. Depending on the size of the secondary mirror and the focal ratio (assuming it is a f/8 or 9), you may have to modify the diagonal (secondary) also. Many folks have used the adapter for 1.25" from .965" without too much view sacrifice. Try it, see what you think. Changing the focuser is another option that should be last. Good Luck! |
