Lens Adapter Vs New Focuser

Hello:
I received a new Meade 114EQ-DH4 reflector as a birthday present. The only drawback so far has been the included eyepieces (.965 SR25, M12.5, M4). I would like to upgrade to 1.25" better quality eyepieces. My question is Should I get a .965 - 1.25 adapter or replace the focuser alltogether. I haven`t seen any information pro or con on using these adapters but I didn`t want to bother with one if the quality is less than a replacement.

Your advice to this newbee is greatly appreciated
