A 3x Barlow is probably giving you too much magnification especially if your using it with the 4MM eyepiece. The more magnification the less sharpness and clarity. The image degrades. Once your over 250x it's hard to get a real clear focus from any telescope unless to air is real steady. Stick with the eyepieces by themselves.
