I was on a web page last week about lunar photography, where the webpage owner stated that the Televue 5X Powermate was "a neat alternative to eyepiece projection". I emailed them and received no reply.

Can the Powermate be used without an eyepiece for lunar photography ? If so, what would be the benefit of taking pictures this way ? Advertisements of the Powermate show it accepts an eyepiece, and the statement on the web page left me a little confused.

Thanks
Dave
