First Hand Testing

I agree with Bob. First hand testing of different eyepieces in your particular scope is the best way to judge what you like.
I perfer a barlow because I like the eyerelief it provides with higher magnifications compared with using a smaller focal length eyepiece of the same type. The comfort factor that eyerelief gives me allows more relaxed viewing and more enjoyment during observing sessions.
But the bottom line it everyone is different and the best way to see what you like is to try it out.
