I just picked up a Proxima 2" 31mm super wide EP 72º from a friend of mine at our astronomy club. He bought 32mm 82º Nagler in 2". It's beautiful. Must weight about a pound and a half. I have a Celestron G8 8" SCT with an equitorial mount CG-5. Is this a decent EP? Has anyone with a 8" SCT had problems with balancing problems resulting from the large 2" EP and diagonal's? I looked through his C8 with this setup using the EP before he got the Nagler and the deep sky objects are sharp and wonderful. He hasn't experienced weight problems at all with his C8. I was wondering if anyone has had a weight problem with the SCT balance. I only have about an inch left to move the 8" SCT. So I'm hoping to have such a nice setup as his. I've always been amazed at the 2" EP's I've seen. But the cost can be staggering especially with Naglers.
