When a set of eyepieces is parfocal it means that you do not have to change the focus when switching from one to another. A captive lock screw is the little screw you tighten to make sure the ep does not fall out. Captive means the screw will not come all the way out and fall in the grass. I'm not sure about the 48mm size, although my guess would be that accepts 2" filters. If you don't get an answer here, another phone call would clear that up.
