I've heard the Meade APO Barlow is real nice. The Teleview Powermates are supposted to be good also. I have a Barlow, never use it. The only time I used it was on my 80MM refractor and the 10MM eyepiece to get a real close look at the moon. A 5MM would have done the same thing and been better. The 8MM Radian at 381x on the LX200 is enough magnification for almost anything. You need a real clear night to focus even that much clearly. Many people sware by them. I've never seen anyone using one regularly. Just to real high magnification once in while, sort of as a novilty. I don't see anyone using it on say a 25MM to make it a 12.5. Most people will have an eyepiece around that and use it. Think about it. When will you use it? That 14MM eyepiece is huge, you'll never put it in a barlow. I'm not saying don't buy it, just it's not important. Get a nebula filter instead. You'll use that all the time.
That's it;
BOB SAL
