First off, the 26MM that comes with the scope is pretty good. You can use it right away with that. It's a Series 4000 Super Plosll and cost $80. Of course thre are better eyepieces. The 12" LX200 has a long focal length of 3050. The first Eyepiece I bought was the Meade Super Wide 40MM. It was $300 and worth every penny. You get 76x with a 40MM, real sharp huge image. Next I got the Meade 14MM Ultra Wide and a PanOptic 22MM. Both were also around $300. I use the PanOptic as my main eyepiece now. I also got the Teleview 8MM Radian, real good eye relief for an 8MM. That was about $230. I know these are expensive, I didn't buy them all at once. The Naglers are great also but cost even more. Televiews are also great. In general, the more you spend, the better the eyepiece. That's not always true, but it's pretty close. There are eyepieces that run over $500. I saw a couple of those. Not as impressive as the price might suggest. Don't worry about getting a real wide range of eyepieces. You don't really need a 13, 15 & 17. A small, medium and a large will be fine. You usually have one or 2 favorites you use most of the time. It's best to get just a few real good ones.
