The more expensive eyepieces are worth it. The larger apparent field gives you a bigger field to look at. It's like the difference between watching a 12" TV and a 35" TV. It's the same picture, just bigger. 2 problems though, You obviously also need the 2" diagonal. I'm not sure if you scope takes it, check that before buying the eyepieces. Also, I know a guy added the 2" diagonal and bought 2" eyepieces for his Celestron CM1100. It caused him balance problems. He called Celestron, they told him he had to figure it out for himself, the scope was not designed to take larger eyepieces. I'd check all that out before spending that kind of money and causing problems. The 1.25 eyepieces are fine and come in larger apparent fields also. That may be the way to go.
