The Best Value - A Question Not Answered

Hi - I recently got a Meade ETX90 and was looking to add eyepieces, and am thinking about what to get. I`m not having any problems figuring out what size eyepieces to get, but am not sure of the best source. The previous "Best Value" thread didn`t quite answer the question. I know some of the criteria for lens quality; Nagler is better than Plossl, which is better than Erfle; wide field gives less eyestrain, etc. But which eyepieces by which manufacturer are generally better? Does Meade (for example) have a better reputation for manufacturing quality control for their Plossls? Do you get a 10X better lens by shelling out 10% more for a Televue Plossl? Or do you just "get what you pay for", no matter the manufacturer? Any major name manufacturers to avoid? Is there anyplace one can find side-by-side comparisons of similar eyepieces?
