Plossl, Nagler and Panoptic seem to represent the best money can buy according to some posts in this forum.

Let`s change the question to this:

Which type of eyepiece represents the best value?

This may prove important for beginners who need to stretch their dollars. Someone mentioned the Erfle design as an inexpensive, but adequate design.
