I'm thinking more in terms of "let's stop sitting on our hands and just go. -- We've had the technology to be on Mars decades ago. It's well past time." ...As opposed to "Oh my God, we're all going to die!"

Let's take a less alarmist approach and just go. If NASA won't do it, why wait on the government? Let private industry find a market in it, and we'll be there lickety split.

(I know not having to rely on the government might upset some people.) But let's face it, the once great NASA has become a joke.
