Consider "piping" the GPS signal from an external antenna to the Meade.

There are commercial units also available to fill, say, an airplane hanger with usable GPS signals, but be warned that rebroadcasting GPS now requires a license of some kind.

This is also known as GPA Signal Repeaters. Here is a link to some products for that and the license issue...
