But Whose 'star' Was It?

Considering that the Bible says that the men from the east were 'astrologers', a practice forbidden to God's children, and the fact that the 'star' led them to king Herod, who wanted to kill Jesus, I think it seems obvious who used the bright light to guide them.

It was only by a dream sent by God, that they were warned to go home by a different route, instead of going back to Herod to inform him where Christ was, as he requested.
