Hi,
I'm new to the group so I'd like to precise that I'm a writer for "Astronomie Magazine". It's a french monthly publication (http://pro.wanadoo.fr/astronomie.magazine).

As an owner af a NexStar 11, I encountered the problem with the compass not being corrected for magnetic north.

There's a very simple thing to do with an hidden menu in the NexStar.
During the GPS procedure, hit "undo" when the scope search for north, after it does its levelling. Align the scope roughly toward polaris with the motors. Push "enter" and the PGS procedure will resume, but this time with a true-north alignement !

Simple and enough accurate to put the alignement star in the finder (easy to loacte as it is the brightest one).

Hope this helps !
