I'm real new with telescopes. have a new nexstar 8i but cant seem to get it right. Does it matter whether i set it up using north and 2 star? Shouldn't i be able to see 'some' stars when i point it at the night sky? I read somewhere, when I look through a telescope, i should see lots of stars that cannot be seen with naked eye. If that's true, why i only see the stars thru my scope that i see with naked eye? Someone please let me know what i'm doing wrong? And is there any astronomy club in the southeast? i'm in SC.
