when you first turn on the AAM it gives a version number

version 2.xx assumes that the encoders are 2160 tics and wants the ratio on your telescope since the C8 is directly attached to the encoders the ratio is 1.0000 set the RA to +1.0000 and when moving the scope east to west the numbers should go up- to set dec set scope to 0 dec and turn on unit number should go up on dec encoder as yuo move scope to point to 90 (straight up)

On ver 3.xx the settings are the actual encoder values small encoders have a label 2160 or 4000,
large encoders can be 4000,4096,8160 and shold be labeled - I have manuals on both types and can scan and email the encoder page to you
