Re 3.6 Mm Eyepiece

Way too much power for this scope .....even 269x like the manual says as usable maximum power is is under extreme perfect conditions , which happens never! Keep it down to 200x for your planetary viewing and try a blue 80A or green/yellow 11 filter or a ND 25 and you will see some apparent detail and the polar caps . As I have done with the same telescope. I used the supplied 10mm eyepiece with a good quality multicoated 2x barlow giving 200x power with great success. Excellent for viewing the rings of Saturn as well if you dont mind viewing at 4:30 am .Even better I have been told to invest in a better quality 10 mm or 9mmm eye piece ranging in the $200 to $350 price range for best results.Also proper collimation of the opticas is quite essencial for sharper imaging. |
