I've had my Nexstar 8i about 2 months now and would like discusion with other 8i users about pros/cons of this model. Does anyone else have one?

I didn't get the GPS module and may not, depends on what experience other users are having with and without it.

I'm able to level, find approx north, get good 2 star alignments, and then dead-on go-to's afterwards. My biggest complaint is tracking for any great lenght afterwards. Sometimes objects stay inside my 32mm ep for over an hour, sometimes no more than 20 mins. or so. I'd like to take some pics but don't want to waste money on an 8i setup if I should wait to invest in the full blown 8/10 GPS models with worm gears.

Overall I'm pretty happy, it's much lighter than hauling around my 8" DOB.

If anyone else has an 8i please let me hear from you.
