Hair Dryer, Home Made Dew Shield

I use a 200 W. antique hair drier. However, I suspect this will warp the corrector plate, and therefore, useful only visually. My C-8 (manual dated 6-97) came with a home made shield. Its warped. so 'till I straightened it with a cylindrical insert, I'll use the dryer. It is made of a black spounge like expanded plastic one cm thick. Reminds me of wet suit material. (Very good for vibration damping under microphone stands, and tele. tripods?). I think the manual suggests taking a break and pointing the tele' earth ward to clear the dew; I've found this works. |
