I don't know if the GPS has anything to do with it, but the "go to" function on the Nexstar 11 GPS is incredibly accurate. I just bought the scope and tested it with the supplied 40mm Super Plossl, an 18mm SWA and an 8.8mm UWA eyepiece. After completing the initial two star alignment I asked the scope to find things all over the sky for 2-3 hours and it lined everything up dead center in each eyepiece (even the 8.8mm) every time.
