The dew shield not only help with dew, it blocks glare as well. You should definitely get one. The Meade is expensive and my be to meade scope only, I'm not sure. It's real nice though. It attaches with thumb screws and is the same color as the scope so it looks like an extention of the scope. It dosen't wrap around like the others. It's a tube that pops on the front, tighten the screws and it's no problem all night. I've seen people adjusting the wrap around type several times during the night. If you have the money get the Meade, if not get one of the others, but you do need it.
