I've been star hopping but I read all the books that say what the RA and DEC's are. But I'm just using the constellations and then looking over my star maps and then hopping around till I find it.

I guess I'm on the right track like every one else. I'm don't ever suspect that I'll take CCD's. So star hopping should be and has been fun. Especially, when you find something for the first time. There are many first times awaiting me. Each night I just shoot for one new object and after that I just review the others I have seen. Now I seem to be able to go to them faster as I'm learning the sky.
