You can get a filter adapter that allows you to use trays to load filters. You can also buy a set of IR blocking dichroic filters.
The imaging chip on the STV is limited, however. It's the same chip used in the SIG ST-237A.
If you want to autoguide and get reasonable CCD sensitivity and resolution, you should consider something like the ST-7.
The downside is the ST-7 requires a PC connection. The STV autoguides all on it's own -- great for film autoguiding (my use for it).
As an autoguider, the STV is the best devised for amateur astronomers. As a CCD imager, it's very primitive by today's standards. It's not worth the time and energy to cobble together a tri-color solution, IMHO.
