I bought a Meade 416XTE about a year and a half ago and I can honestly say I wish I would have bought a different camea to use with my 12"LX200.
The mechanical problems I ran into were fixed by Meade very quickly, but I think Meade has a long way to go on their software development.Dont get me wrong , I am a big fan of Meade Inst. I just had quite a few problems getting the camera to work with my laptop. It seams the software will work in older computers running windows 95, but try to get it to work on a newer, faster computer was a real pain. I ended up trying a few other camera control software programs before finding one I was happy with. The camera has many nice features but the software(Pictor) is not very good. I recomend spending the extra money and buying Maxim DL with CCD control if you have your heart set on getting a Meade camera. I think if I had to do it over again I would buy a camera from SBIG.
