Well, I'm not sure about the first question, but i can answer the second question. We cannot see the black hole because of it's incredible density. The fact that it is hidden from our view has nothing to do with its speed.When light begins its climb out of the black hole, the gravitational forces bend it back and force the light further into the hole. There is not mass in a black hole that moves faster than light (c).
