But we do have the technology today to do something as simple as mine mars.....That is how the private organizatoin could fund itself, by mining the planets and such. And I agree with you why NASA is now stagnant.....but with competition they could pick up the pace a bit. Plus, even if we don't have what we need right now, it's possible to design and create what we do need in a short time, like only a year, instead of the tens of years that NASA needs...
