We mere humans even can do it. In what are called fermion EPR experiments we create matter from energy in the form of pairs of electrons and positrons. Then of course in nuclear bombs we convert matter into energy.
The singularity of infinity density in a Black Hole is an approximation of General Relativity which does not contain quantum effects. It is thought that the singularity is a region of Planck scale physics that may even contain the so-called unified field. The fields are finite, but from my perspective quite infinite.
There actually is nothing infinite in the universe. We can attach a finite number to everything, even the number of particles in the universe. So infinity is a convenient math approximation, like the delta function, which is zero every where except at a point, where it is infinite. However, the volume integral over a delta function is finite.
