Apparently you license yourself to assert an opinion without being responsible for whether it is true. As a scientist, I call it a lie to imply one is telling the truth when one is merely asserting an opinion for which one is not planning to take responsibilty. It is more serious when that opinion is an accusation.

My point stands, unfortunately amplified by your
response.
