In the post above, the statement

However, my two weeks (minimum) absence could begin at any time and I don't want to be in mid-sentence when it starts.

One parting thought...several here have touched on it:

If you put the kind of pressure on Israel that was put on Germany what do you expect? If your religion does not agree with the Western version of "due process of law," why should that version of due process be extended to you?
