Clouds of anti-H should have been annihilated with clouds of H long ago, even before stars form.

Actually that is exactly what happens during the Big Bang - all matter annihilated with antimatter, but due to parity violation there were a little more matter than antimatter (about 0.000000001 % misbalance). That is the matter which is left as H in almost empty universe - just what we have today.
