I do not know exactly what happens to them after a while, but they dont go on for ever, increasing in size, and swallowing potentially the whole universe, as far as I know. : There is a theory that there is one huge black whole in the center of the universe that will eventualy swallow everything up. However, this is not a very well defined theory, and even if it were true, we probably wouldn't be in any kind of danger. The universe is still growing, and as long as some empty space is available, everything should be fine. There's also a theory about space-time continuum, but it isn't very relevent. |
