Like bladesinger was saying, all communications are limited by the speed of light (the ultimate speed limit). A booster station could not accelerate the signal any faster than that.

Unless of course, the E.T.s have discovered some kind of subspace communication like in Star Trek. But, that's sci-fi and there's no evidence that subspace or warp speed (faster than light) is possible.
