I wouldn`t make anysuch claim not till somebody does it anyway...

by `ours` i guess that you mean, the blackhole that may reside near the core of the Milky Way ? Perhaps you meant the BlackHole that may be lurking in the Virgo Cluster and is known at the The Great Attractor. Doesn`t really matter much, since how can any celestial body be studied. If we can`t go there and land on it or cruise through it, then all we can do is study every bit of electromagnetic energy that we can detect from those objects that are suspected of being blackholes.
