: What does Event Horizon mean ? I'm sure it has got something to do with blackholes. Please comment. An Event Horizon, is an imaginary sphere sourounding a black hole at the point in which if something crossed that point, it could not escape. Just because a star forms into a black hole, though, doesn't mean it's gravity changes. If our sun were to turn into a black hole, nothing in our solar system would change, no orbital mechanics or anything. The wierd thing about a black hole is that you can get closer to it's center of mass than anything else, and THAT is where the preverbial Language Removed hits the fan. |
