: Do Black Holes ever die or can someone tell me what happens to them.

According to Stephen Hawking, black holes slowly evaporate. However for star sized black holes, the process would take an astronomically long time, many times longer (I don't remember the numbers, but it was a large power of ten) than the current age of the universe. The only exception would be theoretical mini black holes (which some think may have been created at the time of the big bang), which would have evaporated by now.
