: Wayne: Let's take a look at this idea of what people "feel" is irrelevant for a moment. : : Let's use two atomic clocks to run the following two tests. First we place the two clocks side by side on Earth's horizon at dawn and it is exactly 6 AM we then follow the progress of the two clocks until the sun is directly overhead six hours later, and sure enough they both read 12 Noon. Now we leave one clock on the horizon at 6 AM and send the other on a six hour supersonic flight, being sure to return it to its location next to the fixed clock as the sun reaches its overhead 12 Noon location. Now check the clocks to see if they both read 12 Noon. If one of them does not I "feel" that clock is wrong. : But that's just my foolish Newtonian opinion.

That experiment has been done. Newton was wrong. Einstein was right.
