: This has got to be the biggest event one can imagine! What happens when both event horizons meet?? What happens to space/time between the black holes?

It becomes one black hole whose mass is the square root of the some of the squares of the masses of the two colliding holes. This mass difference is due to the energy carried away by the gravitational waves emitted in the process.
