: : Wayne: Mradul, theories relating to black holes and singularities date back to Einstein's day. He rejected the notion of such things and felt that some other force must come into play to prevent collapse of the universe. Hawking and Penrose, and others are just building on Einstein's theory. They all seem to think that a theory for quantum gravity may answer some of the mysteries they struggle with. I for one believe they are right. I also believe this quantum gravity theory will confirm Einstein's idea that collapse is not possible.

If quantum theory starts taking over as the collapse continued to infinitesimal size, and since we can never obverse what happens beyond the event horizon, it would blur out as to what will happen inside. Wayne: It is my contention that a quantum theory for gravity will resolve the flaws in Newtonian math and also leave in tact Einstein's notion that the laws of physics will remain constant in all frames of reference. This will naturally lead to modifactions in general relativity. As to the question: "Does God really play dice?" (Einstein sad no He doesn't) I say yes He does. We call it free will. Keep in mind, however, that the odds are always in favor of the casino, and He built the casino. Place your bets please.
