: mradul: there are many singularity theorems by penrose and : : hawkins. but there is one paper which says that FINITE : : MASS BLACKHOLES DO NOT EXISTS because if it is so then : : collapse will continue for ever. though this paper : : is still not accepted but if it is accepted then all : : the theorems of hawkins will become invalidated!!! : : though it looks very difficult to digest this fact : : but anything is possible in science. : : if one can discuss about this , i will be very happy. : : reply from all the concerned is expected.

: Wayne: Mradul, theories relating to black holes and singularities date back to Einstein's day. He rejected the notion of such things and felt that some other force must come into play to prevent collapse of the universe. Hawking and Penrose, and others are just building on Einstein's theory. They all seem to think that a theory for quantum gravity may answer some of the mysteries they struggle with. I for one believe they are right. I also believe this quantum gravity theory will confirm Einstein's idea that collapse is not possible.

Lau: But we have not yet reached the point of a satisfactory and acceptable theory for quantum gravity. If quantum theory starts taking over as the collapse continued to infinitesimal size, and since we can never obverse what happens beyond the event horizon, it would blur out as to what will happen inside. (since one cant take any measurement) Is quantum theory not really a fundamental theory and have deeper meaning than probability or does God really play dice? and he throw them somewhere we cant see??
