But you guys were saying that the suns gravity was blocked when the satelite went to the other side of the earth... I hope that's not the impression we would give. What happens is, the sun's gravity is being combined with the earth's because the three bodies are in a strait line, with the moon being the farthest body away from the sun. So earth and sun pull the moon in the same direction.
