This isn't quite a NASA experiment, but in retrospect was a good gravity experiment. Global positioning satellites must compensate for general relativistic time dilation effects due to the earth's gravitational field as well as special relativistic effects including relative simultaneity in order to work with the accuracy that they do. There have been actual experiments done similar to this. Currently Lisa is being developed. It will detect gravitational waves. |
