Nuclear Bombs

what exactly causes nuclear bombs to explode? isn't it atoms running into other atoms and causing them to break apart and hit other atoms, causing a chain reaction? Don't they use uranium for that? is that because it has the greatest number of protons? would it work for other elements, even if not as well? |
